What does a typical weekend look like?

We kick off on Friday. You can arrive anytime from 4pm (so it may mean taking a Friday off work – a good/bad thing depending on the state of your week).

Once you’ve settled into your apartment; early evening, we’ll meet for just an hour for welcome drinks and an introduction to what it’s all about.

You’ll have already made the decision to *cook and eat in (you will have a wonderful kitchen with everything that you could need, except maybe a melon-baller, so bring your own) or to go out to one of our many fabulous eateries in the area.

Saturday morning offers you the chance to eat your breakfast in bed as all the ingredients will be provided for you in your apartment.

10am kick starts our day. The morning is spent looking at our different PERSONALITY TYPES, how we are wired…readjusting our expectations of one another. You will have undertaken an online profile prior to coming. We examine where the challenges lie, but mostly how to bring the best out in each other.

1pm, a gorgeous lunch will be provided and then… we are aware that you will be staying in the most stunning part of N. Devon, and might well be eager to get out and do some adventuring. We’ll have already sent you lots of ideas of things you can book up or plan for. You will have lots of options of activities that include surf lessons, walking, running, kite flying, or just sitting in a local pub and having gloriously undisturbed conversation!

So, from after lunch until 5pm, our coast is your oyster. Go and enjoy it!

5-6.30pm Desire! We look at desire in its broadest sense. Yes, you are going to have to discuss this with each other. You might even like it.

6.30pm The night is yours. Again, you will have already *chosen whether to eat in and enjoy the romance and space of your luxurious apartment, or to eat out at one of Devon’s lovely eateries.

Breakfast ingredients for a ‘full-English’ will be provided in your apartment for a sterling start to your day.

09.30am We will explore YOUR VALUES through a fabulous game – those that are your own and those you share together. How to practically celebrate these and bring them more into your daily lives together.

11.30am  Future dreams. A ‘vision exercise’ brings to the fore some things which may have lain dormant unconsciously.

1pm Close.

Outside of the fixed sessions, you are welcome to book in a private slot with one of the team at any point during the weekend. Everything you share is in confidence, so that you can relax in lovely surroundings, knowing you are in a safe, discreet space.

If you have any questions at all about your retreat please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

*The idea is that you are responsible for both your evening meals, bringing your ‘special’ drinks, Sunday lunch and the activities you choose to do, but we will provide the rest. We will help to guide you in all these things, before you come, with a menu of local options.

Where you’ll stay

Pickwell Manor nestles amidst rolling fields, just half a mile from the beautiful North Devon coast, near the glorious, sandy beaches of Putsborough and Woolacombe. It’s 15,000 square feet of 10th century manor house, which has been sympathetically converted into 10 holiday apartments.

It is owned by two families: the Bakers and the Elliotts, who took over the manor in 2008. Susannah Baker and Richard Elliott are two of the facilitators on the weekend.

As a guest of One:Retreat, you’ll have an entire apartment to yourselves. Your own kitchen, bathroom and lounge to kick-back in and relax. *For a small premium you are welcome to book one of our two stunning Treehouses, as an extra bonus of the weekend.

Take a look at Pickwell Manor’s website to find out more about where you’ll be staying.

If you have any questions at all about your retreat, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
