We kick off on Friday. You can arrive anytime from 4pm (so it may mean taking a Friday off work – a good/bad thing depending on the state of your week).
Once you’ve settled into your apartment, you’ll have already made the decision to *cook and eat in (you will have a wonderful kitchen with everything that you could need, except maybe a melon-baller, so bring your own) or to go out to one of our many fabulous eateries in the area. As you say hello again to one another over some (hopefully) local, fresh and fabulous food; do not think you can rest on your laurels, as we’ll be giving you a tiny amount of light-hearted prep work for our time together the next day.
Saturday morning offers you the chance to eat your breakfast in bed as it will all be provided for you in your apartment.
9am kick starts our day. The morning is spent looking at our different PERSONALITY TYPES, how we are wired…readjusting our expectations of one another. You will have undertaken an online profile prior to coming. We examine where the challenges lie, but mostly how to bring the best out in each other.
After a break for some much-needed coffee, we will launch into exploring our DESIRE! We look at desire in its broadest sense. Yes, you are going to have to discuss this with each other!
At midday, a gorgeous lunch will be provided and then… we are aware that you will be staying in the most stunning part of N. Devon, and might well be eager to get out and do some adventuring. We’ll have already sent you lots of ideas of things you can book up or plan for. So, from lunch until 5pm, our coast is your oyster. Go and enjoy it!
5-8pm we will explore YOUR VALUES through a fabulous game – those you hold on your own and those you share and how to practically celebrate these and bring them more into your daily lives together.
Cocktails and nibbles and a ‘vision exercise’ brings an end to the day… but the beginning of your evening out together. Again, you will have *chosen whether to eat in or out.
Sunday morning gives you the chance to spend a little longer under your duvet. This day is all about the two of you. Breakfast ingredients for a ‘full-English’ will be provided in your own apartment so you can wake up and cook it whenever you feel like it! Afterwards, you have **options of activities that include surf lessons, walking, a sea adventure, crafts, horse riding, running, kite flying, or just sitting in a local pub and having a gloriously undisturbed conversation!
The apartment is yours until 4pm, so enjoy!
Outside of the fixed sessions, you are welcome to book in a private slot with one of the team at any point during the weekend. Everything you share is in confidence, so that you can relax in lovely surroundings, knowing you are in a safe, discreet space.
If you have any questions at all about your retreat please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
*The idea is that you are responsible for both your evening meals, bringing your ‘special’ drinks, Sunday lunch and the activities you choose to do, but we will provide the rest. We will help to guide you in all these things, before you come, with a menu of local options.
**subject to availability
Pickwell Manor nestles amidst rolling fields, just half a mile from the beautiful North Devon coast, near the glorious, sandy beaches of Putsborough and Woolacombe. It’s 15,000 square feet of 10th century manor house, which has been sympathetically converted into 9 holiday apartments.
It is run by two families: the Bakers and the Elliotts, who took over the manor in 2008. Susannah Baker is the founder of One:Retreat and Richard Elliott is one of the facilitators on the weekend.
As a guest of One:Retreat, you’ll have an entire apartment to yourselves. Your own kitchen, bathroom and lounge to kick-back in and relax. Take a look at Pickwell Manor’s website to find out more about where you’ll be staying.
If you have any questions at all about your retreat, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
